Few things worked

Liked: Station front
Disliked: AC was initially turned off.Hot water took 2 minutes to come out of the shower at best. One time, no hot water came out for over 10 minutes.First card key given to me did not work.Card key lock is old model with a really loud buzzer.Strange smell in room.Very basic amenities for a hotel which claims to be four star.

Superb

As good as always

Liked: Always a pleasure to stay at the Starhotels Excelsior. The hotel is great, though expensive. The staff is helpfull and let me complete an early check-in for free. The breakfast is just awesome; cannot do without.
Disliked: The place has apparently introduced a new rule for a tip request at the end of stay; quite unusual for Italy and surprising for a place like the Excelsior.

Liked: Very good location, attentive staff, nice room.The selection for the breakfast could be improved, more vegetables and eggs smesh.

Exceptional

Great rooms, just a bit...

Liked: Super comfortable bed and fold out bed was comfortable also. Good location close to train station got further travel.
Disliked: Neighborhood was really chaotic next to the train station, we had to walk about fifteen minutes to get to main tourist areas.
