Would have been good if...

Liked: Staff lovely. Facilities and building interesting. Location good for castle etc.
Disliked: Room 506 faced main street which was very noisy with revellers on the Friday and Saturday nights. Needs to have double glazing of some sort.

Disappointing.

Liked: We did not stay at the St Nicholas, we asked to move to the George
Disliked: The room allocated had a very strong smell of smoke, believed it was a non smoking hotel. Breakfast was not in the same building.

Very good

Liked: location and ease of access is excellent. bed is comfortable and the room has everything we needed
Disliked: fire alarm went off Sunday morning. it was not how we wanted to start the day.

Absolutely a shambles.

Liked: Nothing as The hotel had a power cut so we had t stay at the George, I had booked a double room for my elderly parents aswell as us also but only availability was a twin, lots of very steep stairs for my dad who is 87.5 yrs old and has bad knees n a walking stick, n my mum 85.5 and this wasn’t suitable at all.
Disliked: The getting there and finding the car park was horrendous the reception staff were helpful but it was all a shambles n I’m not happy that my parents had a twin room . We had been to a funeral and a round trip from cremation to hotel and back took 2hrs n 15 mins we were furious all round no courtesy call t say what had happened to inform us…. No bottles of water in room either no cabs available but didn’t let us know!

Liked: Room was great and good size 910 - great few - but the balcony could go with a clean and the room needs a large chair of sofa in it
Disliked: The lights or not having a sofa in such a large room

Disappointing

Liked: It was clean well laid out - accessible
Disliked: The electric cut out about 6am my partners cpap machine which has to be plugged in cut out due to the electrics and lights going out. This machine helps him breathe and can be dangerous sleeping without it. We also had a knock quite early before we supposed to check out for housekeeping asking when we would also be leaving so our morning was interrupted twice due to electrics and housekeeping.
