Disappointed. Bad bathroom/shower, different name...

Liked: The room is spacious since it's a suite. It smelled good when we opened the door.
Disliked: I have stayed at a Springhill property before and considering it is by Mariott, I expected a decent hotel. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. First, I contacted (sent a message through Booking.com) the hotel asking how early can I check in without a fee so I can get ready for my friend's wedding. NO answer. I usually get replies. So I did not check in before the wedding. I sent another message informing them I would check in a little late- after the wedding. NO ANSWER. I had to finally call when I was at the wedding to make sure I have a room. We got there before 9pm. I was sent to a room on the ground floor. Apparently, they gave me someone else's room because the TV was welcoming someone else. They probably gave my room away since I checked in late. *See attached photo. When it was time to take a shower, the light kept turning off. The shower needs to get fixed as we could not get warm water. We wasted so much water waiting for it to be warm but it stayed too HOT and when you move it a little, it is too COLD. It's unfortunate. It was also impossible not to notice the bathroom quality- it's sad to say it looked like it was badly/rushedly renovated. For a hotel by Mariott, how did it pass the quality check? I will attach photos if it allows me. Some may say, "then go to a fancy hotel." No, it does not have to be a fancy hotel to be a quality hotel especially with its brand and rate. I understand the area calls for that rate but shouldn't quality come with it as well? I have stayed at same hotel in SD and I did not see anything like what I saw in the bathroom here. It was disappointing. I really hope room 133 gets fixed with hotel quality bathroom. I hoped for a relaxing weekend night at the hotel but unfortunately it did not deliver.

Had a comfortable one-night stay...

Liked: Reception staff were polite and helpful. The hotel was good value for money and ideally situated for what we had planned to do in and around the local area before returning to LAX for our flight home.The breakfast selection was just right and the coffee was great.
Disliked: The room fridge was a bonus but was possibly set too cold as it froze some of the drinks we had put in there (but not all of them). This wasn’t such a hardship, as it kept them colder for longer while we were out for the day (and a cold drink was ideal in the heat and humidity).It was a little noisy for a short period in the early hours of the morning (around 2am) when some other guests were returning to their rooms, which was disrespectful to those of us who were trying to sleep (but the hotel wasn’t to blame for this, so it wasn’t mentioned when we checked out).
