Disliked: Firstly, the reception can’t understand English properly. I understand it’s French province but if we are talking about hospitality sector, they have to be able understand English as well. I wasn’t informed during reservation that I have to pay by credit card and they denied my wish to pay by debit. I mean, why it does matter to you? I pay, you receive money. Why do you care?When we enter to the room, the bedskirt was dirty I’m not sure if it was blood stained or smth else. The bed was really very much uncomfortable. Alas, we needed internet connection for both television and our devices. I called reception and I was being told “it’s gonna be fixed in 10 mins” after 10 mins my husband called them, they told him “it’s fixed”. But actually it wasn’t! After all, we called for the last time and their answer was “we can’t do anything right now you have to wait till morning”. No apologies, no complementaries nothing. Rude as hell! I know Marriott hotel chain very well all over the world and this is the first time I’m that much disappointed.

A front seat on Montreal's...

Liked: The breakfast was excellent with helpful staff. The location is excellent, basically on a small side street in Montreal's Vieux-Port, and is convenient to all parts of the old part of the city. It was also quiet, even with a loud restaurant connected to the rear of the hotel.
Disliked: The room door was strangely sticky, it took a special move to swipe the room card and then twist the door handle while pushing the door just right.

Liked: The location was absolutely perfect and the staff were wonderful
Disliked: The premise is very run down and in desparate need of upgrade. Our room had a terrible stale smell. We opened the windows but it didnt really help. The chair in the room was broken. The furnishings were very old and stale smelling. Staff were wonderful in replacing the broken chair.

Liked: Location is very convenient if you want to explore on foot and not drive. The hotel staff is very helpful.
