wonderfully welcoming & relaxing

Liked: We've stayed at this hotel before as it is one of our favourites. We all agreed this was the best, due to the professionalism, charm & attitude of all the staff. Beds are really, really comfy. The food has also improved and our breakfasts & meal were delicious. Spa & pool great.I particularly love the candles and the scent as you enter the hotel. At this time of year the roaring fires are lit early so we were tempted to sit in the bar all day! It means it all feels really relaxing & welcoming.
Disliked: Not a fault with the hotel but we could have done without one entitled group of men in the bar on the second night. They were like a Fast Show parody of the English upper class! The hotel managed them well. Other guests lovely though.

Liked: Loved the pool and spa area (although the Swedish sauna wasn't working) but the pool, jacuzzi and steam room were lovely.
Disliked: It is a very old building so you can hear people going up and down the stairs at night

Disliked: If I had to be picky I wasn’t wowed by the breakfast, the restaurant ran out of brown bread and croissants. Next time I’ll just get up earlier!
