Nice place to stay at.

Liked: The staff are very friendly. Rooms nice, bed comfortable. English breakfast good and plenty. There is a lounge with a bar nice to relax and have a drink. We liked the outdoor terrace looking out to a very beautiful large garden. We have stayed there a few times. My family have had a few events there. If you decide to go back to your room after breakfast to relax, the staff would come back later and that without no pressure no matter what time. In the superior bedroom we stayed in was a bathrobe with slippers and it was really nice and soft like a teddy bear that I ended up buying one at a reasonable price. I definitely recommend Southcrest Hotel.
Disliked: In the bathroom it would be nice to have lights at the mirror or around it, as it was too dark for my husband to shave. I tried to put my makeup on and I agreed with him. It would also be nice to have cheese, ham and salami added to a continental breakfast for more choices.

Superb staff, great hotel, will,...

Liked: We visited as a family group with members of the extended family for a two night stay to go to a function. The reception staff were very good, professional, welcoming and approachable. A nice mix of formality and homeliness.Wifey and I had room 202. As per the videos it is a large room at the front of the old part of the building. It was clean, nicely furnished with a clean, recently refreshed bathroom, large double bed and the usual trimmings, tea gear, TV, robes, iron and ironing board in the cupboard as well as a fan. The heating came from a radiator under the window but an oil radiator was also in the room to make up the difference. All in all a nice room. Beyond that breakfast is a made to order affair with a wide menu, some items attract an extra charge, plus there's a help yourself continental buffet, teas, coffees and juices. We always tend to go down late and the selection was reduced but didn't make any difference to us. The full English Brekky items did have the texture of having been stood and kept warm for a while and I understand that those of our party who went down earlier had no complaints. Maybe something go bear in mind. At least they don't have trays and trays of food out in the open for the gluttonous to overload on their plates and waste or get wasted by the constant clear and replace process required wth hot buffets. Overall we had a great stay and it reminded us of an equally pleasant stays 13 years ago and 25 years ago.
Disliked: Our daughter and her two kids had a room further down the hallway which I didn't visit however after they returned from the event quite late in the evening she found some issues with the bedding but she and the kids were too tired to make a fuss and worked around it. The next morning the Party Leader became aware and spoke to the staff who took immediate steps to resolve the issue and were open and honest about the event and remedied the matter and then some by moving the family group to another room(s) as per the third video. They were delighted by the help, support and outcome they received which was in line and indeed somewhat exceeded what you would expect from a top grade hotel.
