Aging and worsening offering

Liked: I’ve always enjoyed visiting the south place. It’s clean and conveniently located with good food. But I haven’t been in a while
Disliked: It’s definitely downgraded since the last few years. No more Porter and limited facilities which have aged a bit. Worst of all they have adopted the American style of tipping asking paying guests to contribute to back office staff. As if we don’t pay a regular overnight rate !

Would book again but request...

Liked: We loved how modern the hotel was, with some nice 5* touches such as Dyson hair dryer, offer of turn down service. The room was very spacious with fab lighting throughout, great for getting ready!
Disliked: We were unfortunately placed in the room above the secret garden which had a loud function band on, luckily we were moved room, but was a huge inconvenience.

Hotel was nice but all...

Liked: The hotel is decorated lovely and smells gorgeous. The location is really good too really close to both Moorgate and Liverpool Street. The beds are very comfortable and bathroom very bougie. The Dyson hairdryer was also a nice bonus.
Disliked: At check-in you are asked to guarantee an extra £150 on top of your room rate, and then a ‘discretionary’ 10% service tip. On checkout this service tip was explained as going to the back of house. This hotel should pay their staff fairly or include this in their upfront cost. It’s very annoying and akward to explain you don’t want to pay this, when you were in the hotel less than 24 hours and didn’t even eat.

Disliked: Our room was tired, there was dirty marks on the table and on the furniture where it hadn’t been cleaned properly, the controls on the side of the bed where temperamental for the money it cost I expected it to be perfect

Great stay. Love to hotel...

Liked: Good food and staff friendly. Did not like loud music on but this may be our age. Clents were also all put to the back and a little squashed when there was a lot of other empty seats.
Disliked: The bomb in the foyer. The world is too frantic right now to be displaying bombs. The door at reception that did not close properly and staff were frozen at reception

Fantastic trip with son to...

Liked: Very clean and really good location being central to everything. Room was large and the bath tub was fantastic.
Disliked: Staff were a bit cold and did the bare minimal when asked a question, such as where is something, or can you help me with something. Not fantastic to be honest. One Chaps’s help me order breakfast for my son as he woke up early from keg lag, but other than that - computer says no.
