Very easy to locate; the hotel was nicer than we expected; the staff was incredible. We know that we will go back to this same hotel.
Liked: Very impressed.

Was discouraged that this was a host hotel for the KC5i50 Triathlon race. I have 4 things I think could be improved upon... 1. We were told that we would have access to purchase Starbucks coffee at any time, it would be available 24 hours. When we were ready to leave the hotel at 5am, the person on staff said they didn't know how to work the coffee machine, but the night before, the on staff night manager said any staff member at the front desk, no matter the time, would be able to prepare coffee for us. 2. Normally a host hotel allows for late checkout in order for us to get back from a race and be able to shower and pack up prior to heading to our next race city. I had to have a lengthy discussion with the night manager in order to get just a half hour past normal checkout time. Made for a stressful end to our race because we knew we had to get back by 12:30 just to get packed up and get out of the hotel. If this hotel is to be a host hotel for this event in the future, there should be enough housekeeping staff at the hotel on Sunday afternoon to accommodate the racers/athletes in order to have a 1 to hour 2 late checkout in order to get back from the race course. We had to miss the award's ceremony in order to get back in time. Most host hotels for racing events make allowances for such things - that's part of being a host hotel. 3. We were under the impression (restaurant availability times as we were told by staff) that we would be able to order dinner between 5 and 10pm. When we arrived in the downstairs restaurant at 7pm, there was no one in the restaurant to place an order with, and the lights behind the bar were turned off. We waited around for 15-20 minutes. A few other athletes had ended up ordering pizza because there was no one there to place our dinner order. We ended up driving to go get dinner - when we stay at a hotel, we prefer to have one with a restaurant so we can just relax prior to a race. 4. At most Courtyard Marriott hotels you can't hear a thing through the walls. I was in room 210, and there was an adjoining door to the room next door. The family next door was very noisy until 11:30 - I went over and asked them if they could just direct their voices away from the door as I needed to be up at 4am. They were great and didn't make a noise after I asked them to not be quite as noisy. It just seems that this hotel has cut a lot of corners - very disappointed in the un-kept promises by this hotel. I will be choosing a different hotel for this race next year. I normally stay at Courtyard Marriott and have not had issues in the past. I wasn't going to write a comment on all of this - I've never done a bad review before, but I decided that as a business owner myself, I would want to know how I could improve the overall business. I'm not writing this just to complain, but in the hope that you can make changes for future guests in your hotel. Best wishes, Cindy.
