Good

Liked: The location was very good. We did everything on foot and felt safe at all times. The room was good looking, the bed was nicely made, there was plenty of space to open our luggages, such as tables and chairs.
Disliked: The bathroom could have better toilet paper. The "fogging" on the bathroom window, which kept people from the outside looking in had some damaged parts. The toilet wasn't properly fixed to the ground, so it bounced a little when you sat on it. Our big problem, however, was the soundproofing. We had a terribly noisy upstairs neighbour who was up all night (at least from 2-5AM), so we had a terrible night of sleep. The floors squeaked a little, so everytime this person walked around, which was really excessive, we woke up.

Old and run down but...

Liked: It was exceptionally quiet despite being right in the middle of the city
Disliked: The overall state of the building itself was mediocre the ceiling innthe bedroom was leaking water onto my suitcase the day we checked out

Good sized room, fairly close...

Liked: Spacious, comfortable, clean room with good sized bathroom. 10-15 minute walk to City Hall, 20-25 minute walk to Liberty Bell etc (but we jumped on the bus), and about 10 minute walk to Reading Market, which was a great spot for food (there were plenty of other bars and eateries within the same radius as well, although we struggled to find somewhere open for food late at night after arriving). Also some tea/coffee facilities in the room and the lobby.
Disliked: The luggage locker situation was a bit of a lottery - we had two large suitcases, which just about fit together in one of the three large lockers available for the building, but it was pot luck as to whether someone had already occupied it (they were all in use when we arrived, but luckily we managed to grab one for the day we checked out, to keep bags for the day before picking them up in the afternoon). Some of the surrounding streets also felt it could have been a bit sketchy to walk around at night, if that's the kind of thing that makes you nervous, but we had no issues.

I would look in a...

Liked: It was walking distance from many sites
Disliked: I wasn’t a fan of the area it was in. I didn’t realize we would be staying in a gay neighborhood with very flamboyant gay men. My brother is gay so I am not phobic around homosexual people but when they are purposely acting overly gay that’s when I have an issue and this district definitely had more than its fair share of overly dramatic gay men running around. Our room also stayed fairly warm and there a constant loud banging sound that would occur every 15 seconds or less which made it very difficult to sleep.
