Disliked: Arrived in the evening , unable to order food 2 hours before kitchen closed .Bedding not good , pillows poor and mattress uncomfortable . Noisy until th early hours of the morning .

Disliked: Unfortunately, this pub is the Wetherspoons of Kirby Lonsdale.Please check sporting fixtures before booking.We were looking forward to staying in a local Yorkshire pub, but this was so far from what we experienced.The pub was rammed when we arrived, and we had trouble getting through the bar to check in and then had to wait ages to be looked after.My hubby and I are both sports fans, but the excessive noise pumped out over the large speakers in the pub was overwhelming and made it very uncomfortableWe had booked a table to eat there that evening, but the volume of noise was so uncomfortable we cancelled and ate elsewhere.The noise continued until midnight, and when your room is directly above the bar, you have zero chances of getting any sleep. Then you can look forward to the cleaners starting before 6 am. the following morning.In the morning, we went downstairs to discover the rustic rural pub we thought we had booked. The breakfast was good and staff friendly.The night of our stay was hideous and such a disappointment.As a host myself, it comes hard to leave a negative review. However, this stay fell so far short of expectations I feel obliged to be honest for the benefit of others.It would be fairer to close your rooms when you know noise is going to be an issue.As stated above, the room itself was lovely, just a shame we didn't enjoy our stay in it!

Birthday get away

Liked: Great location, clean, friendly and good food. I messaged before and let them know it was my partners birthday, they put banners up, a balloon, a bottle of Prosecco it was lovely and made her smile! All the staff were lovely, great location. Would recommend, in terms of parking New Road 1 is the best bet as it’s free after 6 and you don’t have to move your car like you would with the market square.

Liked: Friendly staff
Disliked: This is a sports bar, and probably a great one with screens on every wall, but that should be made clear at booking. Not what we were looking for. Room 4 must be over the kitchen. Woken at 13:15 by washing machine on spin cycle, made the whole room rattle! Then fans in the morning. Howling dog left unattended in another room.

Lovely stay in a beautiful...

Liked: The food, in particular the breakfast were excellent.The location is perfect in a lovely little town and only a 25 minute drive from the Lakes. No parking but there are two car parks within a very short walk. Lovely walks around the town and lots to do - plenty of shops, pubs and a good choice of restaurants.
Disliked: The only thing I didn’t like about the pub itself was all of the tv’s. They seem to cover every inch of wall space and there’s no escape from them. Such a shame as it’s a lovely old building. I understand if that’s what brings in custom and makes money but it just doesn’t make it look very nice.
