Central location in New Braunfels.

Liked: Very clean room. Location was close to the civic center and across the highway from Buc-ee's.
Disliked: Low water pressure in the shower. Bkfst choices were okay, wished they had bread for toast, but waffle and yogurt were fine.

Want a promised refund

Disliked: Power went out no lights no ac , had to leave interrupted our plans drove 3 hours in traffic at night home. Was promised a refund and a call never received either stay was supposed to be 11/2/2024

Staff was friendly, and helpful....

Liked: Friendly and helpful staff. Dining area was clean. It was a very quiet stay.
Disliked: Only decaf coffee was provided. No orange juice, or cranberry juice was available on first day. Orange juice was available on the second day, but the other items were not. Room had a dusty smell.

Liked: Breakfast was a cold sausage, cheese and egg that needed to be heated in a microwave. Regular coffee was not available and a sign was placed for three days that repair was under way. All in all, a nondescript breakfast.
Disliked: This was the lowest water pressure shower that I have experienced for a long time.

Liked: Location was good and the bed was comfortable.
Disliked: Five things really led to this review:1) The computers were down when we arrived and it took about 25 min to get checked in. The clerk did what he could, but it took forever considering we were the only ones there. I explained that I wanted to use a different card and he took a copy of my card and my ID, had me sign the paperwork showing a price $20ish cheaper, and gave us our room key. It seemed everything was good.2) When we walked into the room, OH MY GOD, it was so stuffy. I immediately turned the AC down and hoped for the best. We dropped our bags and left to go shopping for a few hours. It wasn't as bad when we got back, but it felt gross when we initially walked in.3) Toilet was not seated properly and rocked/made noise every time you sat on it. Additionally, it was leaking from the base and we had to use a towel to sop up the water.4) The shower pressure was a trickle. Granted, this is the case in most hotels, but it was low enough to make it worth mentioning. 5) After we checked out, we went to a late breakfast and I happened to look at my bank account. I saw that my debit card had two pending charges totaling $100 more than what booking.com listed and $120ish more than the paper I signed. This bothered me because the card I provided at check in was NOT my bank card. Thankfully we were still in town so we went back and asked about the charges. I was told that the extra $100 would drop off and there was nothing they could do about charging the correct card. This made me upset because I provided the card at check in and my request was ignored and all I got was a "sorry" as a response. The lack of accountability or offer to fix the situation was annoying. The facilities were clean, but did not work properly. My family and I go to Gruene regularly but I can't say that I would stay here again or ever recommend it.
