Liked: The history is wonderful. The location is wonderful. The breakfast was very very good. Our room was great. 1005. Views of Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The pool was great. Our bfast manager was the best and very good at looking after us.
Disliked: 1. My booking included a free bottle of wine. It wasn't in our room when we entered our room for the first time. We asked about the wine later the first day. Concierge stated between 3pm and 5pm. But it was never delivered to our room. I asked again on the 2nd day morning. Was told it would be delivered between 10am and 11am. We got back to our room after being out at Botanical Gardens and still no wine. So I asked again and the duty manager was very apologetic and said he would get it sent up now but I insisted that I get the bottle of wine handed to me while here at reception. True to his word , I got a lovely bottle of wine handed to me with multi apologies. 2. All of the plush antique chairs that I sat in needed re-cushioning. In the Highland Bar, in the bfast/dining room , in our room. It was a little awkward to sit for any length of time. But the look and the material was in good condition. 3. The shower curtain in our bathroom was useless which meant water puddled on the floor alot. With the shower head located so close to the outer rim of the bathtub , the run off water dribbled constantly down the side of the wall and onto the lip of the bath and down the floor. The curtain unfortunately had mould on the bottom of it. The curtain rail was corrosive with deterioration along the whole of the metal rail. 4. Overall I felt that the hotel was a little tired and unloved. Cobwebs over the audio speaker in the Highland Bar, windows at breakfast room needed cleaning. The pool area is disappointing with rusty gate, unloved plants, broken plant holders although the water itself was great.It's a beautiful hotel and I'm sure we will book again. Our Valentine's 3-day celebration was wonderful and Sir Stamford Circular Quay made it special.

Liked: The balcony was exceptional in terms of the view and size. The location of the hotel was excellent.
Disliked: There were a few cockroaches on the balcony and the furniture was a bit old and worn out. One side of the bed was lower than the other therefore making it a bit uncomfortable.
