Great hotel; wonderful location; excellent rooms but above all the lady at the front desk was so helpful, polite and went above and beyond to make our stay an experience to remember - she took it from good to great!

Great location, very clean, beautiful...

Liked: I like that this hotel is Boutique hotel and located in a great area walkable to many areas. This property is nicely decorated and very clean. I also like that the entry doors are locked after certain hour and you need your key card to enter the property.
Disliked: The property is lacking a restaurant, even though it does have a bar. It would be nice if there were a few food options. The first time we stayed at the property, we were impressed with the size of our room; however, this time, our room was smaller, so I was disappointed.

Great location, perfect stay

Liked: The Silversmith is located right in the loop next to many train lines, making it super easy to get to. Everything tourists want to do is within walking distance. The building itself is an historical building, well kept and nicely updated. The beds were super comfortable and the room was super clean. Also, despite being right next to several trains and I was on the 6th floor, I didn't hear any noise from outside. Would stay again.
Disliked: Breakfast wasn't great.

Great base for a city...

Liked: The hotel was in an ideal location for exploring the city centre attractions. It was quiet and well furnished. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Disliked: The breakfast option was unappealing. It was a ‘grab and go’ offering. The bar area was dark and the furnishing were heavy.

Great Stay!

Liked: The front desk staff was very helpful and kind. Location was excellent and a block from Michigan Ave. Room was quiet and comfortable. Everything was exceptional.
Disliked: No complaints.

Outstanding Location and Staff

Liked: The location 2 blocks from the Art Institute of Chicago. Desk staff was very helpful with suggestions for improving my vacation.
Disliked: Breakfast. Expensive and ordinary. I found better pla es to eat (Pittsfield was my favorite).

Exceptional

Just fine, good location, but...

Liked: Everything is just fine, but not more than that. The location is good in terms of distance to attractions. We arrived at 1pm, and they did have a room for us, which was nice. It saved us waiting until 3pm.
Disliked: They did not respond to messages that I sent via the booking app. This is annoying. I did get a couple of standard emails sent automatically.The area is very noisy. We asked for a quiet room, so they put us as far away from the train as possible, and the view from that room was as unattractive as it can be.They did not allow for a late checkout. Not even for a fee. They suggested I go into booking and just book another night.
