Worn motel on dead-end bypass...
Liked: Convenient in terms of not having to drive I80 at night after a long day of skiing. Restaurant really seems to try to have a wide menu and good treats (although I only had an appy). Staff friendly
Disliked: Very dark, old, small room, poorly lit. Hard to warm up in winter--clearly had no heat for entire previous week before I took it and floor remained very cold for nearly entire stay. No liquor license at restaurant, so don't expect a cold adult beverage. Entire place verges on creepy...cinderblock building w/ rickety decks/stairs, on dead end road that obviously used to be one of the main roads over Emigrant Gap, but time has passed this place and hotel by...

Superb
Liked: Great for off mountain access to the Tahoe Ski area and lake. Super quiet, even though it is off the highway.
Disliked: The restaurant and dining choices were limited. Eat before arrival if possible.

Clean, quiet, and welcoming staff
Liked: Nice location. Wonderful staff. Clean, efficient rooms. We were a little bit hesitant to book a place here. The reviews convinced us that we should and we will definitely come back.

I would have liked to...
Liked: There was some good scenery.
Disliked: It was pretty bland. The restaurant food was pretty good, but would have like to be able to have a glass of wine or beer. We realized it was a very Christian place, decor, music, literature, etc…. Nothing wrong w that, but would have liked to have known that ahead of time. We also wanted to watch a basketball game, but the tv situation was hard to navigate, and it wasn’t available. We had called earlier to check if we could catch it there some where on property, but it wasn’t available. In the morning we were looking forward to a coffee from the coffee bar, but walked into what seemed like a bible study or something, which was uncomfortable. We felt we interrupted and couldn’t order a coffee in that situation. It just wasn’t our cup of tea.
