Liked: A lovely hotel! Everybody was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Some reviews say the rooms (which are huge!) are dated but I personally really liked the decor and thought it added to the experience. Beautiful grounds.
Disliked: Maybe this can be done if you book directly with the hotel but an option of a package that includes both hotel stay and use of the spa facilities (at a discounted rate of course) rather than having to book separately would be good, no matter how you book your stay.

Ok not great

Liked: Lovely place
Disliked: Over priced if booking the spa, as the pool is included so you can’t just have a swim you have to book spa package, wouldn’t go again for this reason, spa package anywhere else is separate from just using the pool, bedroom was dark and lighting was very dull, bathroom not spotless

Lovely setting but rooms toooo...

Liked: Lovely setting, room was clean and well decorated. Beds very comfy.
Disliked: Unfortunately the windows wouldn't open (appeared painted shut) so the temperature was borderline unbearable, even considering it was November.

Noisy/no rest

Liked: Nice grounds
Disliked: We were put at the very top of the building and right next door there were a group of 5 girls who were banging and screaming all night long- there were chairs being thrown and we couldn’t sleep - I informed reception who didn’t do anything to stop the noise complaint and didn’t offer anything further whilst we were there - this is the feedback from my parents who I booked this hotel specifically for a birthday and for some much needed rest - I am now embarrassed that this was the outcome and shrigley hall are not assisting in the slightest! I was also looking at booking this place at a future date but due to this issue it doesn’t look likely! Please help resolve this issue. Thanks

unhappy stay

Liked: I liked the fact I got to share my friends special day I was abit upset I couldn't get in my room until after the sit down meal to even get changed out of a very uncomfortable pair of shoes id wore to the church and wanted to change into something more comfortable, so I litrelly payed £210 to sleep I couldn't even enjoy just relaxing in my room for awhile
Disliked: the time I managed to check in, the bedroom was not what I expected and didn't look anything like what I'd seen, we was stuck at the back with a tree right infront of our window, then I checked for the following night and it was £94? the bath panel was all split there was holes in the wall, the windowsill was awful I definitely would not pay £210 for that room ever again
