Liked: Fantastic property, beautifully decorated and prime location in downtown Detroit! The staff are exceptional!
Disliked: On this trip one of the towels in our room had hard plastic or dried up caulking on it…. And there were big hard plastic tags in the pillows? Not sure why they were there but it was strange… almost like security tags…

Liked: Location and building was good
Disliked: Staff seemed bothered that We were there. We just finished a trip through 6 major cities in Europe and we found the service to be much more professional and courteous than in the Shinola. All around Detroit we found the service to be spotty with good service in some places and terrible in others. Shinola and Detroit need to decide if they want to be a service oriented spot or be grumpy for the rest of their lives.
