Superb

Fails to deliver on all...

Liked: Great location, and as you park and walk up the place looked amazing, beautiful gardens and outside architecture. Walking in we were welcomed by a friendly staff. Upon checking in we noticed there were tech issues and were informed there would be no wifi. Not a biggie. Now walking into the room was when all dreams died! The room, while spacious was tired and needs immediate attention. The paint on the window sills is badly pealing off, the decor is lacking, bookshelves empty, the whole decor seemed to have no planning in mind. We noticed there was only one dressing gown and only one set of towels even though we booked for a couple. After using the bath we couldn’t drain it as the plug release wasn’t working so that took us a good 30 minutes to sort out. When we tried to drop the blinds one of the blinds fell clear off the wall onto our heads, so we gave up that idea. Went for dinner at the restaurant downstairs and the meal was inedible, the pasta was literal slop on a plate with overcooked prawns. When the waiter cleared the table he didn’t ask why we hadn’t eaten it…also when we checked out there was no feedback opportunity. Overall this place promised a luxurious stay and charged for one but failed to deliver on room quality, service and restaurant experience so it was a massive disappointment for us. I strongly suggest you check the Meadowpark in Stirling where we had stayed the night before, they were a 10/10 on all fronts!

Liked: A spacious room. Dinner was excellent. Great food and good service in the restaurant.Hotel was in a lovely location.
Disliked: Some of the details were missed, which is not good in a 4* hotel: no milk in room for tea, toiletries were only enough for one person in a double room and pillows were too hard and uncomfortable. Wardrobe stuffed with ironing board, iron and case rack leaving little room for clothes to be hung up.

Gorgeous place to stay

Liked: Sherbrooke castle is full of character it's beautiful. My husband also loved it friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere we had an executive suite for our short stay wanted a castle for my hubby to be treat like a lord forgot to say that's his actual title
