Liked: This hotel was a treat; it is beautiful and people are so kind. We enjoyed the large high celing room and the feel of staying in a luxury castle. We loved our stay and highly recommnd it to all.
Disliked: the breakfast was expensive so we decided not to have it. I think the hotels should encourage guests to have the breakfast and the way they can do this is by offering it at reasonable prices.

Liked: Great room with lovely bathroom and very comfortable bed. Attentive and friendly staff and great food in the restaurant.

Not what I expect of...

Liked: The receptionist was very kind and courteous.Generally, however, one had the distinct impression that the hotel was understaffed and that what staff there were were under great pressure. Not a comfortable experience.The location of the hotel was perfect for what we required, but, at that price, I would avoid staying there again, most particularly because of the appalling breakfast, made more appalling by being ridiculously over-priced.
Disliked: Probably the worst breakfast we have had. We arrived in the dining room c. 9.30, breakfast being served until 10. My poached eggs were not cooked through. I sent them back; they were replaced with the comment 'These are well done', an obvious and unacceptable dig. I had just finished eating when we were asked to leave the dining room. It was about 10.15. My husband's eggs Benedict were served on the heel of an unbuttered, white supermarket sliced loaf. My bread was the same, also unbuttered. We had to request toast. This cost £21 each!!!
