Liked: The staff were friendly and the hotel lobby and eating area were modern and clean.
Disliked: Well as soon as you take the elevator to your floor and step out it's like you arrived at a 1 star hotel. The corridor of every floor is simply outdated and dirty. The rooms look like a bad horror movie. We found 1 bedbug. Windows are so dirty you cannot look outside. Furniture has its time. Room and floor feels so moisty and humid. And the central AC I'm sure is full of bacteria as I got an ear infection. In addition the room comes with bare minimal no charging plugs, no hair blower.

A 4-star hotel that is...
Liked: Location at the Centro is wonderful. Short walk to Macroplaza, the museums, Barrio Antiguo, and Paseo Santa Lucia. Parque Fundidora is not very far either. The treadmill machine was in good working order, and no one was using the gym, so it was pretty quiet. I asked to relocate to another room after two nights, and they were gracious to give me a room in a higher floor with a view.
Disliked: The windows were awfully dirty and dusty. The staff said the windows were cleaned once a year; it looked like they had not been cleaned in twenty years! Both rooms on second floor and seventh floor were filthy and dusty. Curtain rods were broken. Room A/C was working, but not the heater. Towels were thin and awful. Supplies were inconsistent. One room had tissue, the other one did not. Same thing with cups. Coffee supplies in the room were limited and of poor quality. You get four packets in each room: one packet for decaf, the other for regular, while the other two were just condiments (powder creamer and sugar) which looked like they had expired. Shower door was leaking. Worst of all was the breakfast buffet. The chilaquiles were mushy and inedible. The coffee was brown water. I had to pay $17 for perhaps the worst breakfast buffet I have ever had in any hotel. The beautiful stained glass decor in the ceiling and the vastness of the restaurant belied the bad quality of the food. There are so many cafes and restaurants within stone's throw, so do not even bother with the hotel coffee and breakfast! It will just depress you.
