Lovely place. Would stay again.

Liked: Loved its quirks. It is not a boring generic modern hotel. Definitely has character. Fabulous location, too. Staff were friendly and helpful, but not invasive. Excellent walks. Enjoyed my stay.
Disliked: Potholes on the road in. Sound proofing is not great. Could hear the occupant in the next room singing out of tune!

Spontaneous trip to shap wells

Liked: The grounds and gardens were lovely. Seeing the red squirrels and wildlife was amazing.Games room and amazing food
Disliked: Room a little small. Bed a little small.

Great place for a pit...

Liked: Staff were great and nothing was too much trouble. Dinner and breakfast were both great and reasonably priced. Serving staff very approachable and helpful.
Disliked: I had a small double room - but not enough room between the end of the bed and desk to work. Ended up sitting on the bed!

Liked: Old-fashioned ambience - nearly 200 years old.Peaceful setting, nearby stream, woodland & wildlife, including Red Squirrels.Great food.Dog owners have their own dining room/lounge.
Disliked: The shower head was fixed at an angle that directed the water to the far end of the bath. I reported this & was assured that it would be altered.
