perfect location, good breakfast, simple...
Liked: There is no breakfast buffet, but I actually liked the voucher system. The breakfast overall was very good and especially the tumaca sandwich is awesome.Location directly in the centre of Chiado could almost not be better.
Disliked: The rooms and the WC (we had a shared one, where you had to jam your flip flop into the door frame to avoid becoming trapped in the bathroom) are simple but they do the job...

Superb
Liked: Great for co-working. Nice beds with lots of storage. Good shared bathrooms with showers included, felt like it was a private bathroom when it wasn’t
Disliked: Breakfast table service staff couldn’t care less if you were in a rush for a meeting on an underground strike day.

Cozy and perfectly located Hostel
Liked: Really nice rooftop terrace with the nicest Brazilian barkeeper, met some nice people and we went out for drinks and a party, beds were comfy
Disliked: Hostel was quite empty, staff on the reception were a bit rude, pool area could be more inviting.

Stunning location, staff could be...
Liked: The Location is absolutely amazing. The common areas; Pool area and Bar are amazing, the co work space is also very useful (Note there is a charge). There is a really clean kitchen to prepare meals and handy storage facilities. The breakfast is amazing (Breakfast wait staff need to be improved though)Welcome drink is a nice touch.
Disliked: Due to the nature of the building, the rooms are rather cold (Date of stay November, but the days were much warmer than usual 19 plus degrees C. (The rooms do not have temperature control) I wouldnt like to stay here when the temperatures plummet as walking from room to the shower area would be too cold. The showers , while clean , were absolutely horrendous, it was either FREEZING COLD, or so hot I had to jump out of the way of the shower not to scald myself. We stayed in a small private room with shared bathroom, The room size did not match the pricepoint AT ALL. It was annoyingly small. (maybe ok for one person but not for two) . Furthermore , you could hear every single thing from the room next door, sneezing snoring and the sound of chargers being plugged in and out. Also, for a pretty cool place the music was god awful mainstream pop and is pumped through all day long... Katy perry/ Rhianna and Coldplay...... Yikes, I know this is purely down to taste, but maybe think about something more nondescript if it's going to be on all around the building...The staff were a mixed bag... some friendly but most seemed a bit nonchalant about everything. When asking for something as small as a beer or a coffee felt like a monumental effort. I got quite a shock when I arrived to Lisbon and witnessed this as I thought it was a norm but it was the polar opposite in every other cafe and establishment around the city. Our flight got cancelled and we had to stay a few more days, we checked out and went to a chain hotel, while the atmosphere was not as nice as the Selina, the rooms were three times the size with private showers and comfier beds for 10 euro extra. Just something to think about before you book.
