Hostel- not pet friendly or...

Liked: This is a hostel type motel, we did not know this upon quick booking through the app. We were coming with a newborn and a dog and were put on the third floor, stairs only to a room with only a bed window and sink. Shared bathroom. Not at all kid or pet friendly. Does not state this on the quick view in booking.com app. Had to cancel as this was not feasible with a newborn, we were in the actual building less than 10 minutes and still got charged. Nobody at the front desk to talk to, had to text emergency number to let them know we couldn’t stay there, and we were still charged for stay. They texted a key code to the door, the lock box to get our own keys. Very much not your regular hotel experience as it looks on the apps. Completely disappointed. Be aware this is a shared space and probably only good for young people only looking to overnight in a bed, or someone who’s from out of town with plans to be out most of the time. Very disappointed with advertisement and lack of flexibility for charges.

Liked: Stayed Feb 14th thru 18th. Attended Festival of the Dark Arts, location was perfect. Bed was comfy, shower was hot with excellent pressure.
Disliked: Wasn't exactly like pictures, was sharing with friend who was going to sleep on the couch which we thought was going to look like in pictures. When arrived it was barely even a love seat, more like metal frame with cushions. We asked front desk if they had a cot or something equivalent, but were told they do not. Nice front desk assoc gave us extra blankets & pillows.The coffee maker was electric kettle with instant coffee, not ideal. The light/ fan fixture above bed would turn on at super random times during the night.

Liked: Location was great! The charm of a 100 year old building was exceptional! The staff person was exceptional as well. The bathroom was incredible.

Liked: The hotel, the staff, the age of the hotel, the remodeling and the size of our room were great. But
Disliked: The room was their largest and newly renovated delightfully. But, the traffic noise was overwhelming! I wish we would have known to pick a room as far away from the corner of two busy streets!
