Expensive and underwhelming.

Liked: The setting was breathtaking and the hotel itself had a luxury look.
Disliked: Had to pay for a feature room in order to fit the travel cot, but upon arrival had to pay more money for the travel cot which was not prewarned nor do I understand why this is the case given the additional cost already for a larger room. The iron was also dirty and stained my fiancé’s shirt!

Comfy, cosy and characterful.

Liked: The staff were all very friendly, particularly the older gentleman at breakfast (I don't know his name). The room was comfy. The ambience of the hotel with its Tudor heritage, walking in and smelling the wood fire. Use of the pool.
Disliked: Room had a balcony with table & chairs but the door to it seemed to be stuck closed as it wouldn't open so couldn't use it (luckily not much use for it in November). The tap on the bath was a bit small to be a bath tap so it took ages to fill.

Very enjoyable stay

Liked: Authentic and relaxing, attention to detail and very friendly staff. Bedroom large, warm and historic
Disliked: Spa was small and the pool was quite chilly

A fantastic relaxing short break...

Liked: Beautiful old building staff that went the extra mile especially Peggy from the bar area. Always a roaring fire in the lounge area.
Disliked: Nothing

Amazing trip to a wonderful...

Liked: I absolutely loved the setting and in particular the amazing lounge with a log burner. The staff were so friendly and helpful
Disliked: Loved everything.

My mums birthday weekend with...

Liked: Lovely staff and bedroom. Unfortunately there was a wedding and another party there so lounges weren’t available for normal guests. One became available late afternoon. Due to the wedding food for dinner took a while and wasn’t freer. Think the kitchen was overstretched. The spa was lovely and a bonus.
Disliked: Wedding meant food in kitchen took a while and one of the lounge was unavailable. You could hear the music from the wedding venue from the bedroom. We still managed to get to sleep though.
