Liked: Old Florida charm. This is a retro type motel, comfortable and quite adequate for someone whom is accustomed to staying at these types of accommodation. If you are used to or expecting glitz and glam, go somewhere else. The pool is well maintained and the rooms are comfortable. It had everything to make us comfortable during our stay and the walk across the bridge and street is short. There are 2 bikes that you can rent to cruise the beach or up to shopping or restaurants locally. Nice neighborhood and felt very safe for two women.
Disliked: The windows are the old type jalousie windows that may or may not close all the way. In the height summer, it may be hard to cool the room adequately. They are still doing repairs from the hurricanes, and it was cool while we were there so I give them a pass on the window issue. Terrazzo floors are low maintenance but hard to keep really clean.

Superb

Liked: I loved the beautiful terrazo floors and the original 1960s bathroom. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to cook a meal. A short walk gets you to the beach.
Disliked: Attention to some details would be nice. The bathroom door is very hard to close, for example. The small 4 burner stove replaced a bigger stove, but the wall wasn't painted where the old stove used to be.

Cute retro motel in good...

Liked: Cute place on the water canal. Very comfortable bed and excellent shower. Big screen TV. Good location with beach 2 blocks away and restaurants and shops a few blocks away.
Disliked: Bed moved around, room smelled like bleach. It’s cute how all the rooms face the pool and garden area but it can get noisy with all the early risers going outside and chatting.
