Very good, streefree family stay

Liked: Super large family rooms, very comfortable, great breakfast, very close to the heart of downtown, parking nearby but costly.
Disliked: Parking fees.

Comfortable rooms, great breakfast

Liked: The room was comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good too, with lots of options. I particularly appreciated that a wide range of gluten-free options were available.
Disliked: There was no 'do not disturb' sign in the room, and on our last morning one of the cleaning staff unlocked our room while I was in the shower. Maybe they should wait until after check-out time?

Liked: We'd like to thank Maya, the night shift receptionist, because she made us an early checkin when we took a night train to get to Stavanger in the early morning. She was warm and friendly, and we were very satisfied with everything here.

Liked: Comfortable and quiet, the room was a good size and clean the chair at the desk was comfortable to sit at, the shower was well designed and water did not leak over the rest of the floor. The quick response when ordering a taxi was also appreciated.
Disliked: The first thing you see as you walk into room 607 is a damaged table with the top laminate missing at the edges - not a great first impression. The breakfast was not as good as I expect from Scandic - It was adequate but not fabulous. As a final whinge - the coffee/tea making gubbins provided should be checked and filled up regularly, there is not much point providing a kettle if you can't make the coffee as there is no spoon or sugar.
