Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Lee Ann H, Lloydminster, visiting SaskTel Centre Sat, 26 October 2013

The room was an absolute disgrace. No heat; had space heaters in the rooms. Filthy; body secretions on the comforters and couch. Hair in the bed, looked slept in. Shower had hair in it and was dirty. Carpets didn't look like they had been vacuumed in forever. Didn't stay; left and went and stayed at Days Inn. Wouldn't refund the room. Worst experience ever.

Disliked: Absolutely disgusting.

I booked this hotel because I was trying to save a few bucks, and this hotel looked decent. I will never try to be "thrifty" again. The room wreaked like old smoke - it was grungy, the windows didn't open/close properly, and it was way overpriced for the dive that it is. I would absolutely not recommend the Thriftlodge to anyone, and will never be staying at one again.

Liked: Close to Prairieland Park.
Disliked: Smell; cleanliness; decor; disrepair; overpriced.

Very disappointing!

Liked: I would never recommend this place to anyone. There was a long black hair under the top sheet when we opened the bed to go to sleep. There was a sandy grit on the floor when we walked bare foot. The tub had the finish worn off and had deep black streaks (scratches in the enamel) in the bottom of the tub. It had a large pink stain running down the wall. The desk clerk said we hadn't prepaid and wanted us to pay again. I absolutely refused to do so and said I could prove that as it had already gone through my credit card and was on my statement. The only positives I have are the flooring was new and the tubsurround tiles were new and although initially the clerk didn't hold the door for us when we struggled with our suitcases he did carry my suitcase to the room when our room was up 2 flights of stairs and I was annoyed because I had called two times to assure we had a main floor room because we are elderly and both had had surgery recently.

Will not stay again

Liked: Smoking rooms available. The night stand with plug, usb plug and easily assessable dimmable switch for the lamp all on the front.
Disliked: Absolutely NO toiletries (not even a bar of soap in the bathroom for washing hands, let alone shampoo etc.). Not clean (hairs in bathroom, Kleenex on floor when checked in, towels stained yellow, hairs and holes on bedspreads, remnants of red lipstick graffiti on bathroom door and on fridge door, wall behind bathroom door dirty, etc.) Needs renovations badly (beds are hard and uncomfortable, bedspreads and shower curtain need replaced, tub had cigarette burns all over it. Room was hot when we checked later evening so we turned off the heat then at 3am woke up because we were freezing. Was noisy. Tv and cable box kept screwing up and we would have to unplug and reset it numerous times. Not good value for the money.
