Liked: Good location. Good price. Saranac has a lot to offer too!
Disliked: Walls were a little thin. Shower took a while to get hot.

The price was good and...

Liked: The room itself was good. Absolutely no frills; just a bed and shower. The coffee pot and refrig were not used. It seemed to be very clean.
Disliked: The grounds had snow banks that I had to climb over to get into my room and back to my car. I am 81 years old and terrified of falling. Nothing was kept up and I actually passed right by the facility because the driveway was packed with snow and I didn't see it.

Decent for the price, but...

Liked: The check-in was the best. It was great to be able to get an access code without going to the front desk. We were able to complete the entire state without having to see or speak to anyone in person. The location was also very good. Across the street from the lake with partial views, and close to downtown Saranac Lake and reasonably close to Lake Placid. The room was a decent size and parking was easy.
Disliked: The room had a couple of quirks that, if corrected, could have greatly improved the stay. For starters, there was only one bedside table. One side had nothing which is annoying when looking to put a book, phone, drink, etc. somewhere. There were no sheer curtains. And since this is a motel with windows facing the parking lot, anyone can see in your room unless you have the blackout curtains drawn. Sheer curtains would be a perfect middle ground.Speaking of curtains, the shower didn't have liner curtain like most do. It was just a fabric curtain which made you choose between putting it on the outside and getting water all over the floor, or putting it on the inside of the tub and soaking the curtain. There were only 2 pillows in the room. Not the end of the world, but it made for a less than comfortable night (we got in too late to request more). It wouldn't be too much work to add 2 more pillows. Finally, cleanliness was just so-so. The carpet felt pretty grimy and the bathroom had grime as well. The sheets were clean, but the bed was poorly made (nothing tucked, just sheets pulled over the pillows). There was a good deal of dust everywhere.None of this is horrible stuff, but it made the difference between an OK and a great stay.
