Good

Liked: We loved he peace and serenity of the property. We loved the treed driveway, its goats in the paddock, the wonderful garden and lake setting. The bed was super comfy.
Disliked: The beautiful property felt like it was a little neglected. The cottage could be updated, but was perfectly serviceable and very comfortable. The pool area was fabulous, but really needed cleaning, and there is a very blocked spouting, possibly causing water damage to the house. It would have been nice to have some milk left in the fridge, even long-life. We still felt it was a lovely, even magical place to stay regardless.

Disliked: Air-conditioning took a while to cool the cottage down and some windows couldn't open.

Nice cottage in lovely location,...

Liked: Peaceful location on huge, spacious property. Small lake with lots of birds and frogs. Quite private from the other cottages on site.
Disliked: I referred to the cottage website http://www.sanctuarypark.com.au/ which is clearly out of date. We stayed at this property in 2013 when it was deserving of 4 stars, but now in 2024 it would be closer to 1-2 star due to age and being run down. The grounds looked neglected and unkempt with overgrown grass and lots of weeds. The carpet in Lakeview Cottage could do with a deep clean. On one windy night, the double glass doors blew open as they are not very secure. (They were wide open when we arrived, though the security mesh doors were locked). The only breakfast provisions were tea and coffee, but no milk. An ironing board was provided, but no iron. The bathroom is newish and very nice, but in order to open and close the bathroom curtain, one has to climb into the low spa bath. After making my booking on Booking.com, I was messaged by unknown phone numbers, one possibly being from overseas, so I rang the cottage number on http://www.sanctuarypark.com.au/ to verify who was contacting me (no one answered, but I got a return call from an unknown phone number, which was that of Stayau, the manager of the property). They wanted my email address to send booking details. Doesn't Booking.com already have this? There is no mention on Booking.com that this property is managed by a third party company, and that Stayau insist on photo ID being provided before the key code is given. This requirement was only revealed by Stayau one day before arrival.

Liked: Close to town, secluded cottage. I genuinely feel so relaxed after this stay. The cottages are well equipped with everything you need and they are very peaceful. I booked this really really last minute and had absolutely no issues accessing the property when I needed to. Staff were great and prompt
Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Amazing location out in the countryside yet close to everything we needed. extremely quiet & peaceful. extremely relaxing.
Disliked: the kitchen was basic, just lacked small items that would of made cooking and our stay more comfortable. only 1 wine glass, no extra pantry items like sauce. A salad bowl.

Liked: Wonderful sprawling property with plenty of room inside and out. Close to Healesville sanctuary and shops/restaurants. Option to light an open fire as well as electric heater and we did as it was freezing!
Disliked: No electric blankets on any beds.

Lakeside Cottage

Liked: It was the cutest little cottage with beautiful views! Our toddler loved exploring the grounds, seeing the wildlife and playing on the little playground. The owners offered us a cot at no extra cost and the property was completely safe for a 2 year old - including providing a fire gate for the usable wood heater (and cut up firewood ready to go). Perfect little getaway for our Mother's Day weekend before baby no. 2 arrives
Disliked: The interior was a little dark and outdated, it didn't bother us at all as it kept with the cottage charm but if others are expecting modern then maybe this isn't for you.
