A typical Mariott experience -...
Liked: Wow. What a busy hotel! Probably because it is the only decent hotel in the area... it was a Mariott, so met that bar.
Disliked: Housekeeping was slow - they need more help.

Decent property, clean and comfortable.
Liked: I felt safe as a solo traveler. It is clean, modern, spacious, efficient. Location is great with stores and outside food options nearby.
Disliked: Decent experience and I would stay here again. I kind of felt like the staff was in a hurry. When I called the front desk about ice because the machine was broken on my floor (4th floor) I was told I could come down to the first floor. I was exhausted and it wasn’t worth it.

Excellent, on the whole!
Liked: The room was clean and a nice size. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel was nicely appointed and close to an event we were attending in San Ramon. Parking at the hotel was very convenient. The price was reasonable. The *second* front desk person with whom I spoke (an older gentleman) was very helpful, friendly, and professional!
Disliked: We had to wait over 45 minutes, after arriving at the hotel, for a room to become available. This caused us to miss almost a full hour of the event that we had traveled to San Ramon to attend. The *first* front desk person with whom I spoke gave a very poorly worded explanation of the delay stating “there are no rooms available in our system.” This made me think that we did not have a room for the night! I had booked the room weeks in advance and checked in online the night before we traveled. (Another customer/guest behind me in line had the same reaction as I did to the statement "there are no rooms available in our system"!) I was assured by the first front desk person that they would notify us when a room became available. We waited in the hotel lobby lounge within visual distance of the front desk. Eventually, I had to go back to the front desk to ask when our room would be ready. Thankfully, I was given excellent customer service by a different front desk person.As the hotel’s delay of more than 45 minutes and well past the 3pm check-in time in having a room ready, a complimentary refreshment would have been a welcome acknowledgment of the inconvenience and a gesture of good will.
