Exceptional across the board -...
Liked: I had a long stay at the Marriott and I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and its staff. I was staying there on my own and the minute the staff realised that, they made me feel at home and no ask or request was too big or too small. The rooms at the Marriott are modern, spacious, clean and housekeeping do an excellent job every day. The location is also perfect and all the staff are super friendly and helpful. I want to give a special shout out to Serena on the front desk reception - she is the prime example of exceptional customer service. She is a 10/10 across the board - you won't find anymore more friendly or helpful. If I ever go back to Del Mar, I know that I will be staying at the Marriott. Thank you to all the staff there for making my stay so enjoyable and pleasant, I really appreciated it!

Shockingly Dirty
Liked: The location in Del Mar is good. It also seems to be fairly newer or recently remodeled.
Disliked: Dirty, dirty, dirty. Dust and pets hair everywhere on the surfaces, on the floor, under the beds, human and pets hair interwoven in the rugs by the bed. Customer service is lukewarm. When arrived, although I had already prepaid for the entire stay, they took my card again but didn't explain what for. Had to call to find out why they took additional money from me. They seem nice but absolutely careless. I had to leave the premises 2 hours after checking in due to pets hair causing an allergic reaction. Took 4 days to get a refund because of lack of understanding from Marriott of how to handle a third party refund. Aside from finally granting the refund, they did NOTHING to comp the time I lost, the fact that they ruined my family weekend, and the inconvenience their carelessness caused. The worst hotel experience of my life (and I have traveled extensively because of my job. I had recently stayed at a La Quinta by Wyndam for the holidays that, despite being a 3 star hotel, absolutely blew them out of the competition in cleanliness, comfort, and customer service. NEVER AGAIN.

It was okay.
Disliked: The faucet in the bathroom stuck, did not work smoothly. The drain in the bathroom sink did not drain properly.$35 per day for parking seems excessive.
