Liked: On the night of April 5th, I traveled to stay with my family of 5. About 3 hours before check-in time, I informed the staff that I wanted an extra bed (I had already requested it since I made a reservation 1 month in advance). There were 5 of us. When we checked in, we found that we got 2 bedrooms, but there was only 1 room, which everyone knows is definitely not enough for us. The extra bed that I requested was ready. After that, I went down to the reception and asked to change the room because the bathroom was not enough for the 5 of us. I asked for a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom room instead. The female Thai staff with short black hair said, "Where did you get the idea that there are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms? Our hotel doesn't have one." So I told her that I had stayed 2 days ago and got the room that I requested. She changed her attitude and told me that the room was full today. She tried to find a room for me, but there was none. But the first time I asked, she said that the hotel didn't have that kind of room. It was like trying to lie and cheat me. And I said then we could separate the rooms. It was 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, but it was 2 rooms. She said that I had to pay extra. Which I was very unhappy about because it was not my fault at all. I am very disappointed with the 4.5 star hotel. Finally, she gave me 4 free drink vouchers but I said that we have 5 people, not just 4. Finally, I am very annoyed and walked back to my old room without any responsibility from the hotel. And this staff never smiled at me and had a dissatisfied face the whole time we talked. The service is absolute bad. Trying to take advantage of me. I paid more than 400 dollars per night and paid for an extra bed for 100 dollars per night. The hotel should have better management and should train new staffs to be negligent in service. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I will not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel again.

Pleasant

Liked: Bed was uncomfortable, room was not as clean as usual for a Rydges, nightly rate was to high for the comfort etc, unfortunately below expectations. The gentleman who checked us in was exceptionally friendly and welcoming.

Pleasant stay

Liked: Good location. Near to many pubs and restaurants as well as public transport. Public areas in the hotel were nice. Room was spacious. Staff were pleasant in the main.
Disliked: Room was a bit dark due to the overuse of brown decoration. Although there was a wardrobe there was only one drawer which was not useful for a 5 night stay. We had to use the desk for clothes that would normally go on a shelf or in a drawer.

Liked: The location was fantastic, with a car park within the building itself, with a direct lift to the lobby.
Disliked: Check in was smooth. However, we got a room with breakfast included, but was not being informed during check in. We figured it out eventually by checking the booking information.The room's sound barrier was bad, you could hear the next room rolling up the sun shed. The bath is mouldy. The shower often flows out to the rest of the bathroom resulting in the floor being very slippery.On the first night, ready for bed, pulled up the sheets to find the bedsheet not being properly done up as the mattress protector was expose which your legs would be on it. Called housekeeping and front desk to no answer. Got through to the reception in which they advise that they will let housekeeping know. Waited for 20 minutes and no one came up to assist. Called reception again. Finally had someone, who ended up handing us extra bedsheets at the door, instead of coming in to fix the bedding.Was really disappointed with it. However, the duty manager was really apologetic the next day and offered us drinks in which we turned down. But I appreciate their effort in wanting to rectify the matter.

Comfortable seamless stay

Liked: The vibe of the hotel, generated by the staff and the general layout of the hotel. The central lobby area with the bar and restaurant leading off is a great area with a great atmosphere. By pure chance a major manufacturer exhibiting at the conference/trade show we were attending picked the Amber restaurant for their conference dinner, none of the attendees were staying at the hotel. Dinner was great with excellent service.
Disliked: I would have liked a choice of pillows instead of the one size. A small tube of moisturiser in the bathroom would have gone down well too.
