Liked: Room was big and clean. Bar on roof was fabulous!
Disliked: HAHAHHA

Kind staff, different experience

Liked: Location was amazing. The room we stayed in was the largest suite and we loved that we had so much room that friends could come over and bring their luggage etc if necessary.
Disliked: I am someone who basically hands out 10 stars- and I was more than happy to spend the cost for location, amenities etc. however- a few things I wasn’t impressed by that when I dug seemed to not be a one-off experience.The weather was cold so all outdoor and upstairs amenities were closed - there wasn’t any area to go outside to drink coffee or smoke. We had a private patio and I was able to stay out there and enjoy the view and a drink, but for staying for location and those amenities it was a big let down since that was a huge draw. Our other hotel managed to keep outdoor operations even during the cold. We loved the breakfast at The Ivy & the staff was very kind. Courtney was soooo kind up front and was wonderful. Everything was great until night 2 when we got a call while out for my husbands birthday. We were unsure why- we called back and they were not sure why they called. I texted them on the number that said to reach out & they let me know so sorry someone complained someone was smoking. I had checked my bank and immediately presumed there maybe had been a traveling error ( double charged but pending- nbd - ) but couldn’t figure out why they had called. I said it wasn’t us- but just wanted to check on the double charge. They said no worries it was for incidentals. My only concern was multiple people on Reddit were charged for smoking fees when they didn’t. I hadn’t ever had that experience before - the presumption to call while out at his birthday dinner - a text would have been easier. They apologized but I just didn’t like that if I paid the amount to stay in a room with a patio - if I did smoke on the patio outside even - the fact that someone would call to complain about smoke (we were at dinner when they complained ) is ridiculous to me. If someone smoked inside and it was outrageous I get it but it was just a weird experience that took me out of my night out.

Overall we had a great...

Liked: The Royalton exceeded my expectations. It was my husband birthday and we had a blast . We had dinner in the ivy room and enjoyed the pool the next morning. The pool was nice and warm. We felt so relaxed afterwards. We are looking forward to come back.
Disliked: The only thing I would say is to login to the WiFi it kept giving us trouble.
