Overall good.

Liked: The hotel was clean and comfortable.
Disliked: Breakfast - only fruit was grapefruit, no other fruit such as fruit salad.Beverages - no green tea.

Cheap and sometimes not so...

Liked: The staff were helpful and quick to respond to concerns or requests. Breakfast was adequate. The bacon was nice, as was the wholemeal toast. Portions were filling. In the bedroom I liked the desk/dressing table, which had a regular drawer and a lift up lid with a mirror on it. Under that was enough storage for hair and beauty items. There was a hairdryer hooked to the side, although it was very sticky to the touch. The bedroom storage was plentiful, although the metal coathangers had been well used. The heating and hot water were both very good.I didn't use the pool as the pool room was far too hot for me. A fellow guest said the water was cool.
Disliked: It's been a very long time since I stayed in a place like this. The lift is small and ancient. It's of the type where you have to pull open a heavy door and then try to hold back a strong metal gate. This is very difficult when you're balancing luggage. Some of the older guests, who didn't have the arm strength, struggled with it.The bedroom, a twin with a sea view, was large enough for me. Personally, I didn't find the bed comfortable and I suffered from backache every morning. When I first arrived, I saw a small, black insect hopping across the white bedding. I killed it and inspected the rest of the bed and the room. I didn't find anything else. The room was surface clean but had dirty corners. The windows needed a good clean. The sole picture in the room was hung upside down! The room needed redecorating.The bathroom had a badly cracked sink, a rusty chrome storage tower and a dirty showerhead with barely any water flow. I mentioned the showerhead to the staff and it was replaced immediately. The bin lid had long since come off its hinges.Meals were served at the table. The choices were limited. I paid for dinner on the first night. The large chicken breast was well cooked but the vegetables were tinned. I ate out after that.

Liked: Location is very nice
Disliked: The place is quite old, with the first room given to us being very dirty. We were later moved to a better room, which was very difficult to get to! Too many stairs and doors.

Very good value for money...

Liked: Proximity to the beach, sea view from the family room. Size of the family room. Friendly staff and evening entertainment. The pool with jacuzzi whilst small where an added bonus.
Disliked: Depends what you are looking for but breakfast and evening meals are very set in terms of menu and timings. There are however many options within close proximity.

Great little find

Liked: very close to the sea and centre. staff very friendly and helpful. it is a beautiful building and there are lots of steps and hallways but add to the charm of the place
Disliked: breakfast was good but I was placed in the window so unfortunately my better had melted as very warm day

Liked: The location
Disliked: Totally dissatisfied with the description of the hotel, the photographs are not reflective of the actual room we were given. It was noisy and overlooking the extractor system from the kitchens. The hotel is in dire need of renovation. I have contacted your customer services separately but have received no response. We did not stay in the hotel!!!!! We have lost £400 but were not prepared to stay for their four nights
