WOTH THE MONEY SPENT

Liked: Everything about our stay at Royal Oak Inn was fantastic! We originally booked a double bed but were pleasantly surprised to receive a queen instead, which made our stay even more comfortable. The room was clean, and the service was excellent. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Liked: The property is an older building that’s been renovated. The room I had was basic, but the bed was comfortable, sheets were clean, and there was good water pressure and a decent shower head. The breakfast is a take away bag that you pick up in the morning and it had plenty of food. No coffee facilities in the room, but there’s tea and coffee 24/7 near the reception area, as well as a microwave. The gentleman on reception was extremely helpful with an issue I had relating to an additional booking. The hotel is within walking distance to a major mall and the No.1 metro line, and there are bus and tram stops in front of the hotel. Some review says it’s a sketchy area but I disagree. Yes, there are some homeless and drug affected people on the street, but there are also many very nice homes. It’s no different to the social make-up of any other Canadian city, whether you’re downtown or in the middle of the citty centre.
Disliked: It’s a step-in bath shower but there’s no safety handle or rail to hold on to for anyone with mobility issues. There’s no elevator and the stairs are narrow, but the gentleman on the desk offered to carry my bag up to third floor. Consider asking for a lower ground floor if you have mobility issues or a lot of heavy luggage. The electric wall mounted heater was very noisy.

Liked: After reading all the reviews i was scared to go to this property but once I stepped inside my mind is changed. It is nothing as described in reviews this property is 100% worth the price they offer. The best thing was about the staff, the boy who did my checkin was lovely. He was quick but yet very welcoming. I had very comfortable sleep and im thinking to come back again. I appreciate their free breakfast service and also their cleanliness of the rooms.
Disliked: Area was bit rough but that didn't impact my stay at all
