The hotel in general was nice and friendly, but when going towards the room I noticed how old fashioned and dated everything looked, like it needed updating from the carpet to the walls. In the room it was clean and tidy but everything was a little dated - it was like going back to the 70's. Personally I prefer a nice crisp clean look in the rooms but this definitely wasn't the case. I think this could be a really lovely hotel as the location is perfect but it needs a good refit. Considering what we paid for the room I was expecting more.

Comfortable friendly stay

Liked: Lovely large clean warm room with large comfy bed. Good size shower too. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is spot on by Gun wharf docks great for shopping and eating. Sadly pool was out of use. Breakfast is well prepared too

Liked: Room very clean & comfortable. Breakfast brilliant. The location was very near where I wanted to visit in Portsmouth.Will return again.
Disliked: Elevator to small & cramped. Used stairs everyday of my stay. Which was a healthy activity for me I suppose.
