enjoyable -

Liked: Relaxing couple of days.
Disliked: curtains should have been block-out to stop outside lights streaming in.our room had interleading door and we could hear most things going on next door :)

Nice but over priced

Liked: Staff friendly and helpful. A beautiful building but it shows its age. Nice big room, mattress was comfy. Food was excellent but expensive. The standard breakfast options where all lovely. We didn't try the extra menu as it was an extra £5 on top of the £16 for breakfast. Pool and spa was nice but again the spa treatments where dubble the price of a normal treatment any where else.
Disliked: The hole hotel shows its age and looks very tired in places. Single pain metal windows that don't shut properly made the room very cold. Plug in radiators in the room doesn't feel very luxury. The food was nice but over priced, £30 for a steak with half a grilled tomato and a mushroom. You have to pay extra for side's. Everything was expensive for what you get.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Very disappointed

Liked: The bed was comfy and the food was nice.
Disliked: For breakfast it was 14.95 a head for a simple breakfast ie. Sausage batch but if you wanted a full English etc you had to pay £5 on top of what you have already paid. I do think it is expensive. It's a four star hotel with no fridge etc in the room. The evening meal was nice. The pool and spa area was disappointing. Me and my partner were looking forward to a much needed relaxing weekend. We had no massages as they were fully booked and the pool on both days was freezing most people commented on how Cold it was and didn't go in. It was disappointing and I did mention this to the Reception and spa reception when mentioned to spa reception she mentioned the temp was 29 degrees and that it was 27 the other day but it was so cold and not enjoyable only went in for 2 mins then got straight out. Me and my partner visited this hotel again for a second time as our first stay was so enjoyable and we enjoyed the pool but this time it was disappointing. The lady on Reception was rude and over charged us upon arrival for meals etc. My partner mentioned the state of the room and hairs in the bathroom and mould and dirt marks on walls and even took pictures of them and the lady didn't seem interested and was rude. So it has put us off staying at this hotel in the future which is a shame as we enjoyed our last stay hence why we returned. It was far too expensive and not value for morning. The pool needs to be hotter.

Cheap…but you get what you...

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Poor choice of menu at dinner..roast beef, pork or chicken..plus gnocchi …that’s it!Bead & breakfast only included a limited breakfast..anything else incurred an extra charge (something that wasn’t clear when booking). I ended up with a sausage bap on supermarket white bread (a brown roll wasn’t an option).Standards seems to have fallen since my stay here last year…I won’t be returning
