Perfect hotel to explore Lisbon...

Liked: Nice room and view and conveniently located to explore the city. Great view of the city from my room.

Manager blackmailed me for review...

Liked: The first night we arrived the shower and sink were backing up after turning on the water for one second so that there was no way the cleaning personnel didn't notice this. The lovely and helpful front desk person apologized and told me that maintenance would not be available to fix this until the next day and couldn't switch our room. After maintenance finally fixed the plumbing it took hours for cleaning personal to come to make the bathroom usable after maintenance spattered filthy water from the backup all over the bathroom. We could not shower until mid day the next day. We lost much of our vacation waiting to be able to shower. The manager, who wasn't accessible for days, as I was told he bounced between different hotels, told me I was lying about not be able to shower. He wouldn't even look at the pictures I had taken of the amount of water and whatever else backed up from the pipes. Not only was this unsanitary. It was unsafe for my 76 year old mother (or quite frankly, anyone) to shower under these circumstances. There was filth and soap scum (slippery) everywhere.
Disliked: I informed the manager three days before arriving that we had a sudden death in the family and would like to cancel or reduce our stay by one night as we awaited our family to make the funeral arrangements. He would not entertain the conversation and kept repeating the cancellation policy that we literally happened to miss by a few hours as we obviously could not predict a death in our family. In the end, we asked for a refund for the last night as we needed to leave early to attend the services, and he refused even though such request was made well in advance of the cancellation policy (at least five days prior). After we checked out, I received a call from him stating that if we were to submit a perfect 10 star review on booking.com despite the bathroom issues, he would refund me the last night stay. He followed up with his blackmail in an email to me. I have posted a picture of the email and the bathroom backups.
