Very disappointed. Don’t understand all...

Liked: Room size was good. But that was about the only positive
Disliked: Property is in serous need of upgrade. Radiator didn’t work in bathroom and windows were cracked so it was pretty chilly. Shower was a disaster. No shower tray and just a tiled space surrounded by a curtain so water completely flooded whole bathroom floor! Didn’t have dinner as we thought it was too expensive and dining room looked soulless. Breakfast was pretty average.Had a drink in the bar which the waiter seemed to struggle with getting our order right. Gardens in desperate need of serous tlc!

Unique as a building, excellent...

Liked: The room was spacious and comfortable, with an equally roomy bathroom with bath and separate shower, very nicely renovated with an interesting ceiling! Staff were so attentive and friendly. We went in December so could enjoy the lovely decorations in the fantastically interesting library and sitting room, All in all an unexpectedly special feel to the whole place that really made our anniversary stay unique. Thank you to all concerned!
Disliked: It would be nice to be able open even a tiny section of the windows in the bedroom.

An overnight stay on the...

Liked: The style is 'shabby chique' and the public rooms are comfortable as was our, spacious, room. We had dinner in the bistro in the hotel grounds. The food and service were good. Breakfast was enjoyable with a wide range of dishes available and again the food was of a decent standard.
Disliked: It was all pretty good really, which you would expect from a hotel of The Roman Camp's standing. The pre-dinner gin and tonics were pricey as was breakfast. The breakfast coffee was tbh execrable.

Overpriced

Liked: We enjoyed the dinner in the restruant a bit overpriced
Disliked: The price was room only which we felt was ovrpriced If it had included breakfast that would have been okay. The room had seen better days badly in need of a refurbishment ,as are the grounds needing a good tidy up
