Riverview Inn & Suites Ascend Hotel Collection, Rockford

Probably would not stay there again.

Liked: Antiques.
Disliked: Breakfast; windows you couldn't see out of; did not know the restaurant and bar were closed.

Disliked: How the dead bolt did not work inside my room called the front desk and he came down and said put a chair in front of the door because there was nothing he could do. I called the Hotel manger and he said get ahold of booking.com did not receive a discount or refund.

Liked: Nice and clean and by the river. The wood work in the dining area was gorgeous as well as the Italian Boar statue in the lobby. I have seen the original one in Florence, Italy and it was awesome that a replica was in this hotel lobby. Unexpected surprise.
Disliked: Nothing really. It was a nice place.Very roomy bathroom.

Suite price for a 2-queen...

Liked: The room was very spacious and comfortable. There was a warm breakfast each morning that was much better than many included with hotel stays at other locations.
Disliked: I had booked a suite for my stay, upon arrival I am told no suites are available and was moved to a 2 queen room. Upon checkout I learned that I was being charged the same amount as I had for the suite. This was very un-acceptable. Their reasoning was that I had booked the suite through booking.com at a discounted rate and that when they moved me to the 2-queen room they had to give me their rate which was roughly $100 more than booking.com's rate for the same room. Key card to my room wouldn't work for pool or fitness centers. Saw other guests having issues with their key cards as well.

Liked: The breakfast was excellent. I truly enjoyed. It was not expecting that type of breakfast at a hotel that along will make me come back.
Disliked: At this time nothing

Disliked: The hotel did not plan ahead number of people eating breakfast. Wait time was 20 minutes

Liked: Location was in a quiet area. Hotel was older, but was recently updated and remodeled.
Disliked: Our room (233) smelled a little musty. Carpets in halls were stained, but were clean in our room

Liked: Relatively clean, but pool cloudy and drains had gobs of hair in them. Old gum on pool floor. Carpet throughout stained. Staff unable to grant simple requests, coffee carafe, I don’t eat breakfast but drink lots of coffee. Clean towels etc.
Disliked: Car in parking lot had couple who were having relations. I believe this was a business transaction from what I saw. It was 8AM. I informed desk clerk who said she told them to get a room or go elsewhere but I never saw her actually do that. I was watching.
