Exceptional

Liked: Turns out, the hotel was much preferable to the apartment building we went to afterward. Everything at the Riggs was furnished or attended to almost immediately, whereas in the nearby apartments, there’s no one to help you find your way, nor will there be anyone to petition when you find there are no dishes, no towels, no toilet paper, etc. Stay completely at your own risk of discomfort for the same price or more as the rate for the Riggs. Might as well stay in the superior comfort of the Riggs.
Disliked: Technology is annoying to old people, and since it wasn’t much required, I was glad, but maybe was required to make the elevators go, I dunno. There were always many lovely people around to fix it tho, so it was fine. I suspect this is a problem only for me.

A wonderful stay!

Liked: A truly wonderful stay! Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, location is ideal for visiting the sites, and the restaurant was great. We hadn’t planned on eating there and ended up going 3 times during our stay because the food, drinks, and ambience were so excellent. We also enjoyed the Silver Lyan cocktail bar in the hotel. Minor improvements would be better bathroom lighting for doing makeup, more counter space and outlets in bathroom, and upgraded mattress and pillows. But it was such a wonderful stay, and we would love to be back!

Disliked: Room is very small, bad lighting in the roomServices was bad, we had to call every time for missing towels or water, rudeness of employees at guest service, over priced with no additional value or service.

Great location but everything else...

Liked: Booking.com told me i would receive free breakfast but I was informed by the front desk that i would have to pay for breakfast.
Disliked: Inconsistant advertising.

Best place to stay in...

Liked: There is so much to like about this place! The location is excellent for getting around DC, the staff is wonderful they always greet you and are happy to help. The Cafe is really good. The rooms are large and clean.
Disliked: The beds and pillows could be a little more comfortable. Not so much that I wouldn't stay here again because I will!
