We had a great stay....
Liked: We love the location. we took in a Lacrosse game and had a nice meal out.
Disliked: The parking situation is terrible. To find a parking spot to check in is impossible. You should be able to get access to the parking garage when you arrive.

No rest due to bed...
Liked: We booked this hotel for the proximity to planned activities in the downtown area.
Disliked: This past weekend (February 15th-16th) my wife and daughter (53 and 29 years old) stayed at your hotel (Residence Inn Halifax Downtown) for 1 night. They stayed in room 219. The hotel was chosen for its proximity to The Neptune Theatre and other amenities. To start they were not able to check into the room at 3:00 pm (the listed check in time). They were not able to get into the room until closer to 5:00 pm. As they have plans and an itinerary this caused some issues, but they adjusted for the delay. The real problem is that you have a bed bug problem. My daughter was awoken in the middle of the night by itching and feeling “like something was crawling on her”. She jumped out of bed and saw/found 4 what she thought were ticks. She didn’t realize that fully glutted (full) adult bed bugs can swell up and look like a tick. Of course, she freaked out and hit them off the bed, but she did think to take a picture of one of them, as she thought they were ticks and if she got bitten … which she did … she may have to show a doctor. She was thinking about Lyme Disease. Which isn’t a bed bug issue, but she wasn’t aware that these were bed bugs. As you can imagine, her and her mother didn’t get much sleep for the rest of the night. While I know things happen, this isn’t acceptable for a downtown Halifax Hotel. This is the sort of thing you’d expect to find at a low-priced roadside "flea-bag" motel. I assume you would want to know about this so that you can remove or treat the mattress/room to deal with the bugs. My wife and daughter didn’t complain when they checked out, as we don’t tend to be the type to make a big issue of things. However, this was meant to be a peaceful evening to unwind and relax. Instead, they returned home more tired and worn out than when they left. Plus now they are concerned that they brought bed bugs home with them.
