Edinburgh Is a must visit...

Liked: Staff were great location was walking distance to old town but quite a distance to princes street. Breakfast was limited but nice. Room was fantastic. Staff gave excellent advice on things to do and see
Disliked: The only disappointment was that we spoke to reception about whether getting a bus\tram or a taxi to the airport was best option. We were told taxi would be £16 so almost same as tram\bus. Disappointed that taxi cost £35 for a 20 minute drive on a traffic free Sunday morning

Great stay at this hotel,...

Liked: Good location, 10 min walk to royal mile.Good value for money. Breakfast included.Much cheaper than other hotels in the area but everything up to expectations
Disliked: Breakfast included but could have better selection and better seating

Great location, Nice room if...

Liked: Obviously chosen for location, which was why I booked here and bag drop went fine before check in too. Good size room but for the money and Marriot that was to be expected.
Disliked: No internet for several hours, could not ring reception for help as it turns out the phone was not even plugged in (safety implication in emergency) , very hot in room overnight, no thermostat anywhere in room to control temperature, constant gurgling from shower drain everytime anyone nearby ran water, the noise in the night from this was regular.I appreciate you cannot control other guests but above us a small child playing, running around and stamping feet in the early hours removed our chance to lie -in after the shower drain noise. Breakfast was a shambles with nothing left to eat and not replenished at 10 am with an hour still to go..... mixed and matched items we did not really want, ie. no bread, no sausages, no egg, no fruit left, no teaspoons, tables left uncleared so cleared our own table to sit. Not what Marriott used to be.
