Good in general. Accident from...
Liked: It's a beautiful contemporary hotel with modern conveniences. Most of the Front Desk staff were very professional, courteous and helpful (Emmanuel was a standout). The hotel's location is perfect for executives in Barcelona for conventions and conferences. Metro stations to/from the airport and La Rambla were just a short walk away, and taxis were plentiful at almost all times of day. The hotel's restaurant provides an awesome breakfast for $25 per person. However, "In Time Kebo" is a neighborhood gem of a breakfast/lunch joint less than a 5-minute walk away, serving great pastries, and from 10:00am on, some of the most beautiful egg benedicts, sandwiches and salads.
Disliked: The most glaring and important issue is a guest SAFETY issue that management should have been aware of and taken steps to prevent accidents from occurring in their property. When wet and especially when soapy, the super smooth tile floors of the walk-in showers pose a high slip hazard. An elderly friend we traveled with had a near fall miss in the shower. As did another gentleman I spoke with in the guest elevator who said that the shower experience "scared him". Unfortunately, I did slip and fall while taking a shower and crashed to the floor, which is very embarrassing even if your husband is the only witness to the spectacle. I landed hard on one side. That evening, I had a very sore butt plus pains from my left shoulder to my upper back that I never had before. I informed Reception, but the staff member I spoke with declared that the hotel has never had such incidents before and there is no need to escalate the matter up management. The next day, I spoke with Ms Jimenez, an Assistant Manager, who said she was sorry about what happened. This is a really easy problem to solve: Simply inform guests of the slip hazard in the shower and urger them to place a towel on the shower floor prior to turning on the water.
