Be sure that you understand...
Liked: The room itself was quite nice--roomy, clean, comfortable, quiet
Disliked: I did not understand that this "hotel" was more like a B&B. There were only 6 rooms on an upper floor of an old building. I had missed the info about checking in after 2 PM and arrived about 8 PM to a dark building with no large sign with the hotel's name, only a locked large wooden door. I was a 78 year-old woman and was not happy with the prospect of spending the night by myself on the streets of Rome! I was able to enter the building when others opened the door to exit but then faced an empty lobby with nothing but on old see-through iron elevator. A young Polish woman and her son saved me!!! She was lodged on the second floor, offered to keep my large suitcase and her son would take me across the street to check-in. It turned out that she was registered at a different hotel (which was across the street) but was placed in their "extra" rooms across the street (where I met her). I did not know how to use my cell phone in Rome so that hotel's manager reluctantly dialed the info on my registration sheet and connected me to the manager of Relais La Maison De Luxe. Then I found out the codes that I needed to get into the building, the floor and then my room. The room itself was quite nice and the cleaning person the next morning was very friendly and helpful. It was other guests who explained the breakfast setup to me. It was 2 days before I saw the manager at the reception desk. When I did, he was helpful with lots of sightseeing advice and he reserved a taxi for us to get us to our cruise 2 days later.

Good
Liked: Very good location within easy walking distance from the central station. We also walked from here to all the tourist attractions we wanted to see, though some, like the Vatican, is no doubt to far for some. Breakfast was okay, and some of it comes in boxes which means that you can use it as packed breakfast/lunch. The room was nice and quiet, though the floor could do with some tlc.
Disliked: There had been some kind of a misunderstanding which meant that we got a double instead of a twin room. However, the host was quick to come by and separate the beds while we took a walk in the city. Also, the reception was closed on arrival, which it shouldn't have been, but we got hold of the manager by phone and got the code for the doors. As it turned out, they had sent us a mail with the necessary information a few hours prior, so if you find yourself in a similar situation, check your mail before calling.

Nice for a short stay
Liked: The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. King sized bed with ensuite. It was about 12 min walk from Rome termini and not too far from the colosseum. Our room also had a nice view of a basilica.

Relais De Maison De Luxe...
Liked: Our stay here was wonderful and a great spot to see various parts of Rome. With our 3 night stay on arrival we entered our code into the older style building and then stood at the old style small caged lift, with some apprehension. Once we got to the 5th floor and entered a very secure area, we were pleasantly surprised by the modern area of reception and a small eatery area for all guests to use. Our room was a great size and large bathroom. Plenty of space to spread out luggage with all the amenities required. It was clean, quiet and very comfortable space to stay. With an abundance of eateries and places to get a drink or gelato, it really made it a wonderful place to stay. The receptionist although only there throughout the day was very pleasant and helpful, also with breakfast of croissants / fruit and coffee / juice, was a lovely way to start the day.
Disliked: Really hard to complain about anything as they did accommodate to your needs and answered all questions in a very helpful manner.
