Defecated bathroom

Liked: The bathrooms were gross. Someone defecated on all the toilet seats and it was left like that for a day and half. Than the door code to the bathroom kept not working. Someone ripped the handle off the mens bathroom. Which made getting a shower really fun. 🤔 definitely not going back to this place ever again. Worst stay I've ever had.

Clean and comfortable cabins for...

Liked: We rented 2 cabins for a family of 5. The beds were very comfortable, all slept well. It was chilly in Arcata but they had little heaters in the room so we were comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean, especially for camping, I was impressed. We took 3 hot showers all at once and the water lasted. We enjoyed playing mini golf (it was basic but helped pass some time) giant checkers and giant chess. The kids also enjoyed a great playground on the property.
Disliked: The door to cabin 6 was super squeaky! We kept joking we felt like we were in a horror movie every time we went in or out. We didn't see much staff, but we didn't need them either.

Will not be back

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: No staff present the whole time we were there, cabin was dirty and stunk, trailer full of smelly trash right across from us, grounds poorly maintained, only cold water to wash hands.

Short and minimal hours there.

Liked: Great location and perfect size if you just need a place to sleep.
Disliked: Dead bugs smashed on the walls and in the shower and on the bathroom sink was splattered blood. Oh and the rotten food left in the fridge.

Superb

Liked: The cabin was in a wonderfully convenient location. The grounds were quiet and peaceful and a great place to catch some rest. The cabin was very nice and clean on the inside.
Disliked: The cabin was in need of some maintenance. I come from a maintenance department at a ski resort lodge.the roof was tarped and looked like new roofing was possibly in the works. The fireplace didn't work the stove top was unresponsive the refrigerator compressor was worn down and needed replaced (very loud when it stopped it's cycle) the Roku remote buttons were broken. But with all that being said I would stay there again it was still a good value and appreciated the quiet nights sleep more than anything.

Convenient and Affordable Option When...

Liked: I liked the outdoor seating available with chairs on the front deck and a picnic table between the cabins. You can park your car right in front of the cabin. The self check-in and check-out process was easy and hot showers are available day and night. It was also cool that the "streets" on the property have names, and there are outdoor games available for families to enjoy. I chose this cabin for its proximity to Cal Poly Humboldt and was not disappointed. It is about halfway between Arcata and Eureka and the cabins are much more affordable than the hotels in either town. Although small, they sleep three with a queen bed below a twin on the top bunk.
Disliked: The prices on the items in the gift shop were too high to justify buying a souvenir there. There are so many RV campsites that the whole property is crammed full of families and the pool isn't relaxing, but overrun with kids. However, if you are travelling with kids they will have plenty of playmates outside the tiny cabin. It is easy to miss the entrance to the property from the highway at night.
