NASTY DIRTY SMELLY. ENTIRE BUILDING...

Liked: NOTHING! THIS PLACE IS DISCUSTING
Disliked: I recently attempted to stay at the Red Roof Inn in Yorktown, Virginia and our experience was nothing short of disastrous. From the moment I tried to reach them by phone, I encountered a lack of customer service. No one answered the telephone, which set the tone for what was to come. Despite the hotels policy of being a non-smoking optional room, the entire building reeked of smoke. This was not just a faint odor; it was pervasive and overwhelming. While the office manager was explaining that they stand firm on their no smoking policy a man walked through the lobby with a cigarette lit. This place is a joke. When we finally got into our room we were greeted by sticky floors and the strong smell of bleach permeated the air. The bedsheets had dirty stains and even cigarette burns in them which was absolutely unacceptable. We had no other choice but to look for another hotel in the area last minute. I would never recommend the red roof Inn even to my worst enemy.

Disliked: Elevator worked sometimes. No coffee in the room. Old coffee in the lobby. No one at the front desk at least three times I went there, need to call “0”, I felt unsafe. They say no smoking? But I used the room phone to call the lobby and the cradle was full of ashes. And the phone was filthy. The smell in the room made it hard to sleep. When you first arrive it smells nice, then it wears off.

Excluding the bathroom needs, I...

Liked: Location and looks nice from the outside.
Disliked: Bathroom needs a makeover. Tile floor looks dirty, shower head was broke and not able to choose spray options. Electrical gfci didn’t work. I suspect paint covering socket was the culprit.

Worth the money I paid.

Liked: The space in the room was great. Coffee in the lobby was great tasting and available 24/7. Low noise even being on a main highway.
Disliked: Housekeeping never cleaned or restocked our room and we stayed for 5 days. It would be nice to offer continental breakfast but I did know this was not offered before booking. Sofa bed was sunk in and shower was slimey. And the first night the remote fell behind our bed and we had to move it to get it and there was so much trash under the bed (food, plastic bottles, rotten rose petals and dirt)
