Ideal for my purpose
Liked: It’s easy to find, plenty of parking space. Friendly staff. Rooms are fine for the price. Food is excellent. Well stocked bar.
Disliked: Some of the rooms are a little tired and need a refresh

Very good
Liked: Attended friends wedding. Rooms comfortable, warm, unlimited tea/coffee. Facilities for wedding and reception afterwards were excellent.
Disliked: Breakfast on morning one was piping hot, very good. Morning two was Luke warm not very nice.

Liked: Bed incredibly comfortable and easy access to the room. Plenty of parking
Disliked: Room was very small (was advertised as small double but this was one seemed smaller than ones we have previously stayed in here) and bed was up against the wall limiting space further. Lots of noise from next door-not very soundproofed

The staff made our stay...
Liked: Hotel staff, comfy bed, good scrambled eggs, quiet room.
Disliked: Very run down: chipped paint work everywhere, bathroom expel air not working, hence very rusty towel rail not on, rusty soap caddy, shower temperature hard to control and so hot I nearly got scalded, bathroom very shabby.

Liked: Excellent full breakfast with good quality ingredients
Disliked: Breakfast finished a little early (9:30). Dinner very good except could have had some lighter options, e.g large nan bread and poppadom not really necessary with a curry and full portion of rice.

Other than the lovely and...
Liked: The hot breakfast was basic (no frills), though delicious. The housekeeping staff were amazing and very helpful.
Disliked: I felt unwelcome, e.g. made to wait in the cold and rain outside as there were wedding photos being taken in the lobby (the main entrance door was shut) instead of opening the alternative entry (next to the main entrance) to my hotel room; denied room service dinner when my order was 5 minutes before the cut-off time for ordering; instructed to leave the hotel for a drink with my friends due to a Christmas party happening in the restaurant/bar; told that there's no luggage trolley for my use when I have a bad back and struggled to carry my luggage up the three steps to my ground floor room (which I had specifically booked to avoid stairs); no assistance rendered for my luggage and I had to make several trips to my room for them; no secure room to store my luggage when I arrived earlier than the check-in time, no response to my email prior to my arrival regarding storage of my luggage before the check-in time, etc. As a hotel guest, I felt a low priority compared to the event guests (Christmas party and wedding). E.g. since I was denied room service dinner five minutes before the cut-off time of 7pm due to the Christmas Party, the hotel should order a delivery of basic food like pizza on my behalf, as I was advised to call a pizza delivery myself. I went without dinner that night as the hotel had not advised me before my arrival (via email) that the restaurant would be shut to hotel guests and the room service dinner order shuts earlier than the time advised, i.e. order must be sent to the kitchen way before 7pm. It was uncalled for and seemed discriminatory. In all the hotels I've stayed globally, the hotels' standard approach to a guest's request was to go above and beyond to meet needs. It was my first encounter with such disinterest in guest well-being- a disappointing experience indeed.

Our first choice venue when...
Liked: Great location for our visit. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Great room and room service. Excellent breakfast!

Liked: Location is good
Disliked: Dog Friendly however charged extra £15 per dog per night for “cleaning”. Absurd charge and no option to pay a damage deposit. General manager refused to speak to me when I complained to reception. Bed was hard, bathroom was dirty and had a hole in the bath tub so, when using the shower the floor got very wet. Cleaning staff said they weren’t able to change sheets only towels.
