The first impression continues inside the Rectory. Gentile. One feels you are entering a dear friend's home, with staff. The Harrods tableware matches perfectly with the dining rooms. Looking onto a rustic garden with a plethora of song birds and the screech of the resident Buzzard. Black sheep and horses in the paddock. Wonderful friendly staff, happy to help you as best they can. Roger is a wonderful, caring host. Rectory Farm is to be recomended.

Liked: The location on 25 acres of rural landscape is excellent. Electric gates sets the tone. The main house where we stayed with log fires burning really makes you feel at home. Roger the owner is a gentile man that truly does care that your stay is perfect.
Disliked: The breakfasts, although an excellent Continental with fresh fruits and yoghurts and full on Standard English, the time of one hour was a minimum.

Lovely peaceful location.

Liked: Great location. Clean. Peaceful. Comfy beds. Helpful reception staff. Great concept.
Disliked: I realise you have strict rules but not being able to access the room until 4pm did lead to a car park full of customers waiting to dash in. I don’t know what the solution is but it felt problematic. Also with such a huge car park, it was a surprise to be charged for parking, even with a blue badge.

Excellent value for money

Liked: It's the second time we've stayed here, and we'll probably come again. Excellent value for money (even including the fiver for parking!). Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Short drive from the city.
Disliked: Since we were last here, they've added a parking fee of £5. I wasn't expecting this when I paid online for the room. But the place is still excellent value for money.

Disappointed as I was to...

Liked: Location was good for city trip.
Disliked: Breakfast was very poor nothing cooked properly and poor quality.Booked double room but it was 2 beds pushed together so wasn't comfortable. Light in bathroom broken before and sharp edging exposed.Had a fridge in room as was there for 2 nights and wasn’t able to use it.

Great, will come back, thanks!

Liked: Excellent location. I needed to be in Eddington so it was 20 minutes walk. The place and atmospere was amazing. Lots of green, good size and very safe car park, very safe and gated area also. Great sleep, no noise, thanks. Will come back and recommend others who need to stay in Cambridge.

Fair - 2.5 out of 5

Ian Mon, 24 March 2025

Disappointing.

Liked: Nice grounds with easy walk into surrounding fields.
Disliked: Found it to be very noisy being only yards from a major motorway. With the window open for ventilation, not able to tolerate the road noise or indeed the smell of smoke from a bonfire or log burners???I would also prefer the car park charge of £5 to be more obvious.i.e. part of the advertised room price
