Great value, hidden gem

Liked: The hotel is older but it's a tucked away hidden gem. We wanted a nice evening with our daughter at a hotel with a pool and the hotel had to be pet friendly. This hotel was perfect for us. It's a little dated but it's lay out was perfect, the staff was awesome and the pool was fantastic. It is a very warm pool which was surprising (think almost the same temp as the hot tub). The 9ft deep end was awesome, it was nice to have a deeper end instead a full shallow or 5 ft pool. The front desk person we had check us in, i think his name was Tyler. He was fantastic and recommended a restaurant down the street called Speedway which we went to for dinner. It was awesome! The lounge was great and so was the bartender. We had a great time getting to know some other folks that were there for the night.
Disliked: The pool was a little too warm, don't get me wrong we loved the pool and will be back but it was almost the same temp as the hot tub and you turned into a prune within about 10 mins. If it was 10 degrees colder in the pool it would have been perfect!Breakfast was just so so, addition of fresh fruit or something would have been nice. But it was adequate for what we needed. The gentleman working the breakfast station was very attentive to it and was always topping things up.

Liked: Front desk lady was wonderful, great location
Disliked: Room was very dark even w the lamps on, light bulbs weren't very strong

Exceptional

The owner doesn't care about...

Disliked: I forgot my laptop charger in the room. I live 6 and a half hours away so there was no way I could drive back to get it. I called to see if they would be willing to ship it and of course I would pay for it. The person I talked to said the owner won't do it. Great holiday spirit guys!

Exceptional

Dated and too expensive for...

Liked: Hotel was dated. The room was mediocre. TV in the room didn’t work. Room looked out over a pool which I found awkward. Not worth the price I paid.
Disliked: Hotels outdated. Not worth the price of a new hotel.

Disappointing

Disliked: I arrived after midnight the remote for tv was missing. Called down to desk one was brought up, it took awhile to get it programmed, but after the clerk left the volume didn’t work by then it was after 1am. Disappointed. Clerk tried to help, remote should have been in room when arrived and in working order

Good

Liked: It had a great location and one of the staff was very nice. Great breakfast and space to eat breakfast. Lots of room everywhere, very comfortable beds!!!
Disliked: The pool is not heated. I got permission to have some hours later check out and received a call AND a knock on the door of my room to see why we had left, even though the staff had left a note. I had a stomach issue and my kids were swimming with my husband while I slept it off, was very annoying to be woken up 2x as a mom of 4 kids, a nap is like finding a unicorn. A lot of drinking everywhere, too. No pool towels in the morning. With the way the fridge's open, it pinches your fingers unless you open them from the bottom.
