Good

Lovely room with amazing view

Liked: the location is fantastic, really central and on the river! Has amazing view over to York Minster. I walked everywhere and was really close to my office in York.
Disliked: My breakfast wasn’t included so i had to pay

Great location, great reception, but...

Liked: Location fantastic, the man on reception was great so friendly, bar area used to be so friendly but when we came back to the hotel we thought the bar would be open because my husband and I like to sit by the window this was around quarter to three so two women were there aswell and they asked if the bar was open and a very abrupt answer was no not till 3pm not one bit of friendliness so we walked out and went to the bar around the corner, if the answer had of been in a friendly manner we might of stayed
Disliked: Bar area, just checked in and there was a sock over the fire alarm above the bed I noticed it soon as I walked in so I don’t know how the room checker didn’t see it because it’s a fire hazard, hotel not as good as it used to be.

Disliked: Upon dropping our bags at the hotel, the room we had booked wasn't as requested, we had asked for a twin room not a double, a member of staff told us the room would be ready for when we returned to check in, we went back to the hotel a couple of hours later, got the key to the room and it hadn't been changed, so we went back to reception to make them aware and we were offered a complimentary drink from the bar and someone would let us know when the room was ready, after an hour of waiting in a cold bar, we went to reception again to check on the rooms progress, it was ready, by now it was 5pm !! Not a good start to our stay !!

An excellent location & lovely...

Liked: The location, staff breakfast were excellent.
Disliked: I found the bed rather hard and the pillows rather small & soft. I have neck & lower back problems. It may not be an issue for other guests.
