Radisson Hotel Louisville North, Clarksville

Hotel was nice; very clean; very nice staff!

Liked: The best was it was very clean.
Disliked: Chlorine smell was super strong.

Comfortable; quiet; affordable; clean; free WiFi; close to everything. Although I was misled in believing this place was in KY. Not IN. You should not call it "Louisville North". It's Clarksville, IN. Call it that! We got lost because I just knew this place was in Louisville, KY. When I finally just let my GPS do it's thing, we were fine. We had a great time, and a comfortable stay.

Liked: A short cab ride away from everything in downtown Louisville.
Disliked: We could walk right outside from the second floor, but had to go downstairs to get back in and ride an elevator back up. The room key only worked on the ground floor entrance. The girl who checked us in should have better things to say about the city of Louisville and the Phoenix Hill Tavern. She said they pat everyone down looking for guns because Louisville is a bad place. This was totally false - no pat down. Felt totally safe waiting outside for a cab. I'm sure this young lady was only repeating what she had heard.

Read a review before reserving about a strong cleaning supply smell in the room and we found it to be like that in the room we got. Not a bad hotel but my wife could barely stand the smell. Would probably get a different hotel next time only because of that.

The hotel had a very interesting and beautiful layout, right on the lake with a nice view from the room. Clean and up-to-date, bed was comfy. Very convenient from interstate.

Facility maintenance issues need to...

Liked: Online booking was easy. Location is convenient for us, north of Louisville.
Disliked: There was no iron in the room, only the holder for it. The toilet would not stop flushing without manually moving the handle to stop the water flow. The shower diverter pulled out of the faucet while attemping to take a shower the next morning. Could not use the shower at all, had to take my first bath in 40 years. It had snowed heavily a couple days prior to our arrival. The parking lot and walkways had not been cleared and were extremely hazardous to walk on. Before checking out I spoke with the desk person. She assured me there would be no charge because our room was not fit to rent out and I would be contacted by phone or email. A month later when I got the credit card bill there was a room charge.
